  5. during months of treatment for leukemia. Ranked with opera's
  6. superstars, he became ill two years ago. Last week, in an emotional
  7. Carnegie Hall concert, his voice was heard in New York City for the
  8. first time since 1987. Performing is now an even greater pleasure,
  9. he says. "Every time is like a miracle."
